Meet The Coaches

JEREMY CARLSON

Jeremy Carlson is the Deputy Director of Athletics at Centre College and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a USA Weightlifting Level 2 Coach.

At Bluegrass Sports Performance, Carlson specializes in Olympic weightlifting and sport performance.

Carlson began his strength and conditioning career at Centre in 2017 as the College’s first Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. After gaining additional experience at Mercer County High School, he returned to Centre in 2023 as Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance. In that role, he designed and supervised sport-specific training programs while collaborating with coaches and athletic trainers to support the performance, health, and development of Centre’s student-athletes.

A former Centre men’s soccer standout, Carlson was the 2014 SAA Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time All-Region selection, a four-time All-SAA honoree, the Centre Male Athlete of the Year, and an Academic All-American.

Carlson earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Centre College and a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania.

BRADEN TABOR

Braden Tabor is the Director for Sport Performance at Centre College. He is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach and a member of the United States Powerlifting Association.

At Bluegrass Sports Performance, Tabor leads powerlifting and sport performance programming, helping athletes build strength, power, confidence, and competitive readiness.

Tabor began his strength and conditioning career as a four-year intern with Centre’s sport performance department. After graduating, he spent four years at Hopkins County Central High School as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and Head Boys and Girls Powerlifting Coach. He developed and implemented training programs for multiple varsity teams while also serving as an assistant football and track and field coach.

Tabor returned to Centre in 2024 as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance in 2026.

A former thrower for the Centre track and field program, Tabor earned his bachelor’s degree from Centre College and a master’s degree in Education from Western Kentucky University.
